I'll be honest. When I was young, growing up in Hammonton, I didn't care about politics or controversial issues. Looking back, I know I turned a blind eye on a lot of good people with smart, fresh ideas.
Now that I'm older (and wiser), I take more time to listen. I understand all people, regardless of background, are capable of seeing solutions through the lens of their own life experience. What a shame it would be if this valuable wisdom was lost trying to break through tightly closed minds.
My running mates -- Joe Ingemi, Mike Ammirato and Jim Scarpato -- chose me specifically for a skill that I am very proud of -- a sharp ear. I value my own life experience, but I recognize the overwhelming importance of gathering external information, assessing it and, once a decision is made, ensuring government transparency.
As a member of Town Council, I plan to do just one thing -- listen. When my running mates and I are elected this November, I ask all Hammontonians to speak their minds. As long as I'm in office, your words will never fall on deaf ears.
